OVERVIEW ON DOCTORS FROM INDIA

In June 2022, there were 13,08,009 Allopathic Doctors in India as per registrations with State Medical Councils and NMC for a population of 141.72 crores.

There were also 34.22 lac registered nurses and 13 lac allied healthcare professionals in June 2022.

WHO prescribes a standard of 1 doctor for 1000 population. In India,  in June 2022 there is 1 Doctor for 1083 which is pretty close to the WHO standard.

The Government however claims it to be 834 taking the Ayush doctors numbering over 5 lacs into consideration but they are not full-fledged doctors....

In the Population Doctors ratio, for 1000 people figures from some countries are shown below. Surprisingly Cuba, a Communist country heads the list by far with 8.4 Doctors for 1000...

Cuba.          8.4

Austria.      5.5

Georgia.     5.4

Spain.         4.6

Germany.   4.1

Australia.   3.4

Russia.       3.3

France.       3.2

USA.         2.6

India.         0.9

The number of Medical seats in India has gone up from 51348 in the year 2014 to 107948 in 2023..that is a phenomenal rise in 9 years....

The number of Medical colleges has gone up from 387 in 2014 to 704 in 2023.....

The Medical PG seats have gone up 31185 in 2014 to 70,674 in 2024 which is even more phenomenal....

So the Modi Government has done an outstanding job in this area. Of course, apart from Government colleges, private colleges too have grown with support from the government on policy...

Following are the countries where it is lucrative for Indian Doctors to migrate

Countries with an average salary converted to USD

1. USA.           350,000

3. Canada       280,000

4. Australia.    220,000

5. Germany.    180,000

6. UAE.          250,000

7. France.       160,000

8. Newzea.     200,000

There are anywhere between 70,000 and 90,000 Indian doctors practicing abroad.

US has the largest number at 59000, the Gulf Countries and UK too have substantial numbers practicing, Indians doctors are also practicing in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Germany and Norway....

The US has a large number of immigrant doctors 2.62 lacs..probably most are Mexican ...the Indian Doctors at 59000 account for 22% of the immigrant doctors.....China &Hongkong have 6% and Pakistan 5%.....

The US has 5.46 lac immigrant nurses....of which 141,000 or 26% are Filipino, Indian 32,000 and Nigerian 24,000....

Population wise Pakistan has a higher number of Doctors in the US...their population is roughly one-sixth compared to us...so that 5% for Pakistan would be 30% for us.....

THE ILLUSTROUS TATA FAMILY.

JAMSHEDJI NUSSERWANJI TATA was born in 1839 into a Parsi family of poor Zoroastrian priests.

His father NUSSERWANJI TATA fled from Persia to India on account of persecution. He became the first businessman in his family when he established an Export trading firm in Mumbai in 1868.

Jamshedji Tata showed exceptional abilities in mental arithmetic and graduated from Elphinstone College Mumbai.

Jamshedji worked in his father's company till he was 29 years old. Then he established the Tata group and later Tata Steel in 1911 and also established the city of Jamshedpur.

By 1939 TISCO had the largest steel plant in the British Empire. He then moved into textiles and other areas.

Jamshedji was named number 1 in the list of Philanthropists of the 20th century published by EdelGive Hurun Philathropists of the century. The report projects the current value of his donation, mainly to education and healthcare to be 102.4 billion USD after adjusting to inflation and USD Rupee value.

His sons DORABJI TATA and RATANJI TATA succeeded him when he stepped down. JRD TATA is the son of RATANJI TATA. So JRD is Jamshedji’s grandson.

RATAN TATA does not come from the direct TATA family. He went into that family by a chance adoption.

Ratan Tata despite not being from the original Tata family, has inculcated that family's culture and charity on account of his upbringing by the JRD family and did the family proud.

The father of Ratan Tata was NAVAL TATA who was the son of JEHANGIR RATANBHAI  DADABHOY TATA’s (JRD Tata) WIFE’s niece. Despite the same surname no known relationship existed between Naval Tata’s family and JRD’s family other than the one through JRD’s wife.

Naval was born to the parents of a middle-class family. When his father HORMUSJI TATA who was a spinning master in one of Ahmedabad's textile mills died his mother did not have enough financial means to raise him and his brother and sent both of them to a Parsi orphanage. JRD had no sons and JRD's wife adopted Naval Tata from the orphanage.

His adopted father JRD Tata was born to Businessman RATANJI DADABHOY TATA (son of JAMSHEDJI TATA) and his French wife Suzanne Briere in the year 1904. JRD spent most of his childhood in France and French was his first language.

JRD founded several industries of the Tata group like TCS, Tata Motors, Titan Industries, Tata Salt, Voltas and of course Air India.

JRD was awarded the Bharat Ratna as well as the French Legion of Honour which is the highest French award that is given for the highest merit in both military and civil combined, unlike the Bharat Ratna which is merely the highest Civilian award.

Only after his wife's (JRD's mother)death at the young age of 43, his father Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata moved his family to India. For some time JRD also worked in the French army. Then his father brought him back and he joined the Tata and Company. Only in 1929 JRD relinquished his French citizenship and become an Indian citizen.

Although his mother converted to a Parsi, JRD was agnostic and he found some Parsi customs not to his liking.  But he did adhere to the three basic tenets of Zoroastrianism; good thoughts, good words and good deeds despite not professing faith or unfaith in God.

He founded India's first commercial airline Tata Airlines in 1932 which later became Air India International in 1948 and had its first international flight.

The first flight of Indian aviation was from Karachi to Madras and JRD himself flew it. When Nehru nationalised the Airline in 1953 JRD fought back with all his might.

JRD did not inherit Tata Sons just like that. He joined Tata Sons as an unpaid apprentice in 1925. Only in 1938 at the age of 34 he was elected as the Chairman of Tata Sons which was then the largest industrial group in India. Stunningly he succeeded in business by maintaining high ethical standards and refused to bribe politicians or use the black market.

When he took over Tata Group had assets worth 100 million USD with 14 companies. Under him, the assets grew to USD 5 billion with 95 enterprises. He achieved that in 50 years’ time till he left in 1988.

WOULD ISRAEL STRIKE IRAN'S NUCLEAR FACILITIES IN RETALIATION?...

Israel has a peculiar policy on Nuclear Weapons....it never declares that it has a Nuclear arsenal.....but it has viewed Nuclear nations in the surrounding areas as a threat because Israel is a small nation and a single nuclear missile would be able to wipe it out.....this fear has driven Israel to undertake both covert and overt actions to stop Nuclear weapons being developed in the region.....

Israel targeted Egypt's rocket program in 1962-63 under Operation  Damocles...

Egypt then invested heavily in missile development and enlisted many German scientists to develop them .....

These rockets are capable of carrying radioactive material......Mossad was used by Israel to neutralize the German scientists so enlisted.....Mossad used parcel bombs to kill some of the scientists and threatened others to abandon the program....

In 1981 with Operation Opera Israel launched a pre-emptive strike on a Nuclear reactor in Iraq....even before the strike Israel sabotaged equipment bound for the reactor in France....also several scientists working for Iraq's nuclear program were mysteriously killed.....

In Operation Orchard in 2007 Israel launched a strike on a Nuclear facility, this time in Syria when it was nearing operational status....that finished off Syria's Nuclear ambitions....

Since the year 2000, Israel was also against Iran's nuclear program but it is spread across multiple facilities and is fortified underground which posed a big challenge to Israel....

In Iran, Israel used cyberwarfare, sabotage and targeted assassinations. In 2010 Israel deployed the Stuxnet virus which infiltrated one of Iran's nuclear facilities damaging centrifuges used for Uranium enrichment and causing the centrifuges to malfunction due to which 1000 units had to be destroyed ...

Over the years several Iranian nuclear scientists have been assassinated which also killed Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in 2020 ..this guy was considered to be the architect of Iran's Nuclear program.....Israel also conducted several attempts at sabotage with several accidents and explosions at Iranian nuclear sites.....

Iran now has enough enriched Uranium for making 10 nuclear bombs and it is on its way to making a detonator for a Nuclear device ....so Israel would consider that a huge threat.....

That makes it highly probable that Israel may give a go at Iran's nuclear sites....but that is easier said than done because the facilities are multiple and are also highly fortified....and Iran would have strong anti-aircraft batteries and arrangements at the sites expecting such an attack, so one cannot really predict the outcome of such attacks...that said Israel would be highly tempted to indulge in them....

EARTH'S NEWLY CAPTURED MICRO SECOND MOON.

The ARJUNA asteroids are a group of Asteroids with almost circular orbits with minimal tilt from the plane in which planets orbit the Sun....they have been named after our own Arjuna.....

They are the closest Asteroid group to the earth and are therefore NEO's or Near Earth Objects that continually get tracked by NASA....

Of these Arjuna's, those that have orbital periods less than that of Earth but would intersect the Earth's orbit are known as ATENS...

Those that have orbits larger than that of the Earth and intersect the Earth's orbit are known as APOLLOS....

These have come into the news now as our Earth has captured a 2nd Moon from one of the Arjuna's on Sep 29th....the Asteroid captured is known as 2024 PTS is small and is only 33 feet across...this small Asteroid would remain our 2nd Moon till November 25th...

The discovery of this asteroid becoming the 2nd Moon was made by ATLAS( Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System).....

Although this event is insignificant as far as we are concerned on Earth, it is interesting to study. The same thing can happen with bigger asteroids as well.
